People are obsessing over Chris Pine's new beard and Scottish accent in the trailer for his latest lead role in the movie Outlaw King. Will their passion be enough to free Scotland from the oppressive rule of King Edward I and his son, the Prince of Wales?
The film centers around the historical figure Robert the Bruce. This is premiering as the opening night film at the Toronto Film Festival in just a few weeks, and they're starting up the marketing machine a bit early with this awesome first trailer.
Outlaw King is directed by David Mackenzie, who previously worked with Pine on the 2016 Oscar-nominated Western, Hell or High Water. Thankfully, Pine's struggles with his accent have not put a damper on his performance (nor on his status as The Best Chris), which looks perfectly soulful and tormented.More news: Hundreds of South Koreans Head North to Reunite With Their Loved Ones

Outlaw King will also star Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Godzilla), Florence Pugh (Lady Macbeth) and Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones) as King Edward I. The feature film is produced by long-time filmmaking partners David Mackenzie and Gillian Berrie via their production company Sigma Films, and Richard Brown and Steve Golin of Anonymous Content.
Robert the Bruce transitioned from defeated nobleman, to reluctant King, to outlaw hero, all in the course of one year.
The film will launch globally through Netflix on September 9th and follow in select theaters soon after. Let us know in the comment section below!
