Jurgen Klopp has admitted concerns over his defensive options, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez the only senior centre backs now fit and available.

Liverpool fans couldn't quite get enough of Alisson after the Brazilian goalkeeper had dream debut in the Reds' 5-0 romp over Napoli on Saturday and while manager Jurgen Klopp admitted he was impressed with his goalkeeper, he still feels there's scope for improvement.

Fekir was expected to remain in France for at least another year with talk of him being offered an improved contract at Lyon, however, it looks like we could yet see his move to Anfield resurrected.

Liverpool's first Premier League game of 2018-19 is against West Ham at Anfield on 12 August (13:30 BST).

"Dejan didn't train so far". He probably won't play Tuesday and Sunday will be very hard as well, ' Klopp added.

"If their signings work out, if the goalkeeper is a proper one and the new midfielders are workaholics who can handle our football, Liverpool will push City all the way in the two big competitions this season - the Premier League and the Champions League", added Souness.

"We need to be ready each week, not only for a few games".

Alisson Becker got the nod to play in goals this evening as he made his Liverpool debut against Napoli, but Klopp says that he is happy to have Kelleher in his side and anticipates that he will have a great career ahead of him. "It is not about judging our situation and thinking "wow, really good". That is our challenge'.

Having completed his transfer from AS Roma in July, Alisson joined up with the Reds for the first time at their training camp in Evian at the beginning of last week.
