God of War Gets New Game Plus on August 20

God of War is one of the most critically acclaimed games this year, and Sony Santa Monica is working on a reason to revisit the frigid environs of Norse mythology.

The update will be released later this month, and the new mode will be available to those who have completed the story campaign. There is a new rarity level for equipment.

Another feature of New Game+ is the ability to skip cut scenes - a much-requested option from the game's fan base. To start a New Game Plus, you'll need to have finished the story. Kratos and Atreus' abilities, enchantments, pieces of equipment, resources, and talismans from your previous run will remain with you. You can set it to the same difficulty or choose a new one.

The mode won't just toss players back into the game they just beat with some now-overpowered gear, though.

For those unaware as to what New Game Plus will bring to God of War, it will provide players with a host of new gear, enemies that are much more hard to defeat, and the ability to skip any of the game's cinematics.

Test your skills against higher level enemies; some of which might even have a few new tricks up their sleeves! Make sure to play around with the new armors and enchantments, as well, to explore the new customization options. Are you planning on playing through New Game Plus in God of War?

Lastly, the studio also confirmed that you will be able to skip cinematic moments in God Of War when this new update hits.
