Hello and welcome to the Real Madrid transfer roundup for the day.

"For him this is a personal situation and I don't know what he'll decide, but I would like [him to stay]". "I decided not to publish anything when I worked in as not to hurt him".

Real Madrid's plan is that Courtois will be the starting goalkeeper and Lunin his understudy.

Chelsea will now reportedly receive a cash fee and midfielder Mateo Kovacic on loan as part of a deal to send Courtois to Real.

According to Spanish publication Marca, Croatia worldwide Mateo Kovacic is close to agreeing to terms with the Blues, which will see him move to Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan.

Courtois had a year remaining on his Chelsea deal and did not report for training with the Blues this week, before the transfer was agreed for a reported £31.5million.

The goalkeeper has moved for a fee in the region of £31m and has signed a six-year contract.

Seen as a panic purchase by some, Chelsea have addressed a position of need and have now paved the way for Golden Glove victor Thibaut Courtois to finally make his dream move to Real Madrid.

As soon as Kepa Arrizabalaga completed his medical, things went much more smoothly and Madrid will be glad they have signed Courtois at last.

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer believes that his former club's £71 million signing of Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga is 'one hell of a statement'.

Chelsea have made Kepa their number one target to replace Thibaut Courtois.
