Barcelona reach agreement with Bayern to sign Vidal

Arturo Vidal bade a warm farewell to Bayern Munich as he relishes a new challenge at Barcelona.

Vidal had been linked with Inter Milan, as well as Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United, but he'll sign a three-year deal at the Nou Camp pending a medical.

According to Sport, Chile worldwide Arturo Vidal could become a Barca player this week after reaching a verbal agreement with the club.

Vidal had reportedly already agreed to return to Serie A with Inter but Goal reported this week that his agent, Fernando Felicevich, offered him to Barca as well.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player said on Bayern's official website: "Thanks to FC Bayern and all the fans".

The Blaugrana swooped to land the Chile global to replace Paulinho, who returned to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande on loan after a single season at Camp Nou.

His arrival will make up for the surprise departure of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho, who Barcelona loaned to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.

It is believed that if Adrien Rabiot is allowed to leave Paris Saint-Germain, the Blaugrana will scrap their plans with Vidal and target the Frenchman instead.

Neither club have announced a transfer fee for the 31-year-old - who was under contract at Bayern until June 30, 2019 - but reports in Spain suggest Barca will pay in the region of €20m.

He becomes Barca's fourth major signing of the transfer window, following Arthur, Bordeaux winger Malcom and Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet to Catalonia.
