Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, carved up the Giants to the tune of 300 yards and three touchdowns. Afterward, the Giants tried to put a positive spin on the evening, pointing to a run defense that allowed just 50 yards on 33 carries.
East Rutherford, NJ, USA; Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (6) attempts to pass against New York Giants during second half at MetLife Stadium. In two drives, Taylor went 5-of-5 for 99 yards, including a 36-yard TD down the seam to TE David Njoku (more on him shortly), for a flawless passer rating (158.3).
After completing his first National Football League touchdown pass and throwing a strike on the run, Mayfield came up big once again. "It was the first time going on the road with a new team, first time in the NFL".
Callaway, the Browns' fourth-round pick, played despite being cited for marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license.More news: Russia To Decide Retaliatory Measures To US Sanctions: Ministry

Mayfield calmly stepped up in the pocket and delivered a low but catchable ball to WR C.J. Board over the middle for a fresh set of downs. However, in his second series on the field, Mayfield connected with tight end David Njoku for a short touchdown pass. The highlights, easily, both went to Callaway - a 24-yard sideline strike with Mayfield rolling to his right on third-and-7, and a 54-yard catch-and-run touchdown off a quick slant to punctuate both rookies' nights.
Drops were a consistent theme throughout the game regardless of who was at quarterback, with the Giants pass-catchers failing to take advantage when they did receive an on-target throw.
Taylor, expected to be coach Jackson's starter as Mayfield learns this season, hit all five of his passes in two series, including a 36-yard touchdown pass to Njoku, a New Jersey native.
It's only one preseason game, but there were plenty of reasons to be hopeful.
