If you've in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider program, you can download the latest build and begin playing with the new Notepad now.

You may also like the text selection is automatically added to the text field in the prompt so that you may start the find or replace operation right away.

Sign-in has been sped up thanks to a new "Fast Sign-in" option created to help those using a shared or guest Windows 10 machine. The security patches are now available for Windows 10 version 1803, Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 1709, the original Creators Update version 1703, and the Anniversary Update.

It is possible now to zoom in and out of text in Notepad.

Whiteboard is available now for all Windows 10 users, and collaboration features are accessible to Office 365 commercial customers and anyone with a personal Microsoft account. Shortcuts for Ctrl + Plus, Ctrl + Minus, and Ctrl + MouseWheel will all work to change the zoom setting. Current versions of Notepad don't support zooming at all and this changes in the next feature update for Windows 10. Users are still free to disable the status bar if they choose to do so.

Microsoft's announcement explained that delta updates tended to have larger file sizes (around 300MB to 500MB) than express updates because the delta updates have "the full component (not just the individual files)". Additionally, Ctrl + Backspace will now delete the previous word typed. The arrow keys now correctly unselect text first and then move the cursor and when saving a file in Notepad, the line and column number no longer reset to 1.

In addition to delivering monthly quality updates, Microsoft has feature updates for Windows 10. You should see fewer authentication errors when using a single gMSA with multiple container instances.

Instead of delta updates, Microsoft expects organizations to use "express updates" each month for Windows 10.
