Then, to a fan who commented "Get ready to take us to the finals again" on his "Well i guess this is hello again" Instagram photo that he posted after news of his new deal broke, Frye lowered expectations by writing back, "way (too) early to be drinking lol".

Love and Frye were teammates in Cleveland for three seasons and won the National Basketball Association title together in 2016.

Frye, 35, was traded by the Cavs to the Los Angeles Lakers along with Isaiah Thomas and Cleveland's first-round pick for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. on February 8. Their first round draft pick Moritz Wagner shot the 3 well in college and 2nd round draft pick Svi Mykhailiuk is putting up nearly seven 3-pointers per game in summer league, shooting 36.4%. Frye also played for the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic, before joining the Cavaliers in 2016.

Frye averaged 6.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in 17 playoff contests in 2016 to earn his first championship. He was on the Cavaliers' 2015-16 championship winning squad.

Kevin Love sounds pretty thrilled to be reunited with Channing Frye.

Frye could easily have been brought back primarily as a veteran presence in the locker room, which would mean the Cavs don't need to make room for him. The meme also described Frye as "Kevin Love's BFF and National Basketball Association champ".
