I see myself staying at Liverpool, Daniel Sturridge says

The 28-year-old's career has been hampered by numerous injuries that have slowed his development and he was once again sidelined last season with knocks that saw him miss 13 Liverpool games.

Daniel Sturridge says he expects to stay at Liverpool this summer, despite being strongly linked with a move away.

Speculation over the past 24 hours has suggested that Liverpool have renewed their interest in Alisson and the keeper caused a stir on social media after removing Roma from his Instagram bio while his agent, Ze Maria Neis, also raised a few eyebrows after "liking" a photoshopped image of Alisson in a Liverpool kit.

Meanwhile, Klopp insists the door is still open for Daniel Sturridge to have a future at Anfield.

He said: "I always said there is a future, it's about what we do in the moment. At the moment it's all good and we don't have to make decisions", Klopp was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

Klopp's side are expected to push Manchester City all the way for the Premier League title this season, and if Sturridge can remain fit and healthy, there is no reason why he won't have a big part to play for his team.

"With the young ones, yes we have to make these decisions, but not with the others. They show up, and it should be easy for me in the end".

Today, Liverpool are closing-in on Chelsea target Alisson Becker...

Liverpool signed the midfield due for a combined £94m earlier this summer with both featuring in Saturday's goalless pre-season draw with Bury. As for me, Sturridge, no doubt us a classy player but his record of consistent injuries puts a question mark on his future role.
