Armless transient man stabs tourist with scissors on South Beach


According to the Miami Herald, the homeless man is a fixture in the South Beach area, known for painting with his feet.

Police arrested and charged Jonathan Crenshaw with aggravated battery.

Coronado, 22, was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, police said.

Jonathan Crenshaw, 46, is accused of holding a pair of scissors with his feet and stabbing 22-year-old Cesar Coronado just after midnight on Tuesday morning, according to Miami Beach police.

Crenshaw has been charged with one count of felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Crenshaw told police he was lying down when Coronado approached him and punched him in the head.

Coronado was bleeding from his left arm when he was admitted to a local hospital, Reuters reports.

Coronado was visiting the area with his friend from Chicago.

The report says Crenshaw stabbed Coronado twice with scissors, which he put back into his waistband and walked away.

A homeless South Florida man with no arms has been charged with stabbing a Chicago tourist.

However, according to the Miami Beach Police Department, he does have an extensive criminal past.

Police said there were no indications that Crenshaw was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.

He will stand before a judge on Wednesday, July 18.
