Rob Whittaker's UFC middleweight title fight abandoned over 90 grams

The big story thus far this week was the fact that Romero missed weight on Friday (June 8, 2018) for his rematch against UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in the main event of the upcoming UFC 225 pay-per-view event. That's what we want.

Ten fighters on the card have either been a UFC champion or have fought for a title at some point in their careers. Romero earned a third-round KO victory as a plus-150 underdog, but was deemed ineligible to claim the belt after failing to make weight. Romero said the commission ended up giving him just one hour, not two, to cut to the weight limit, and he received no explanation for the shortened opportunity.

Initially, Romero came in at 186 pounds. The bout went ahead, with only Rockhold eligible for the title. Tuivasa, age 25, has won all seven of his pro fights by knockout or TKO, but the 39-year-old Arlovski will be his toughest opponent yet.

The 27-year-old fighter told media there was no way he will pull out of the fight.

On Saturday night from the United Center, one of two things will happen.

"I can't disrespect him in that regard even for a second and look past him otherwise I'll lose in that instant".

At the time of writing, the terms of the contest are not clear but UFC President Dana White confirmed that the fight will take place while it remains to be seen whether a title will be on the line, whether it will be the main event or how many rounds it will be.

A contributing part of him missing weight was the fact that the commission made him stop cutting weight after only an hour.
