'We were together two years and it is only now when he says it. "The quality of the human beings they are, how they connect with the rest of the staff, that is I would say the main secret, that counts a lot to me".

As relayed by Fay, Toure's agent, Dimitri Seluk, has backed the allegations made against Guardiola by his client.

In a scathing and explosive interview with France Football last week, Toure said that Guardiola was cruel to him during their time together in Spain and that he began to wonder if his perceived mistreatment from his manager stemmed from a race issue.

However players like Eidur Gudjohnsen (who played under Guardiola at Barcelona) and Kevin De Bruyne had come out in defence of Guardiola. He never told me face to face'.

"I watch a little and from the outside you see a very cool team and I see that it has lost only one game in the League".

"When we realise that he often has problems with Africans wherever he goes, I ask myself questions".

Toure made 17 appearances for City in all competitions last season before being released, while Guardiola was handed a new contract with the club until 2021.

"I had the time of my life there".

"It was a generation of brutal players and the best player in the world [Lionel Messi]".

Former Blaugrana coach Guardiola remarked: "Now I am less intoxicated about what happens here".

Guardiola also ruled out running for the presidency at the Catalan club one day, something Gerard Pique's said he would like to do.

"I think a player like Yaya would be good for a club like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Tottenham or Liverpool".

"I even asked coaches for my stats".
