The New Zealand White Ferns have gone 1-0 up against Ireland Women in the three-match Women's One-Day International series in Dublin, in the process hitting a world record team total for the ODI format (for women or men). Skipper Suzie Bates was the star performer scoring 151 runs in just 94 balls while Maddy Green complemented her with an equally entertaining 121 of 77 deliveries. The highest ODI score in the men's game was set in 2016 when England scored 444-3 against Pakistan at Nottingham.
New Zealand Women also came within touching distance of the highest List A score in history, set when Surrey posted 496 against Gloucestershire in 2007. With the effort, they broke their own previous record of the highest team total in the ODI history.
The Irish team was all out for 144 giving a win of 346 runs to NZ women cricket team.
Number three batswoman Maddy Green fully capitalises on New Zealand's incredible start. Bates and debutant Jess Watkin added 172 runs for first wicket and then Bates and Green shared 116 for the second.

Bates' 10th ODI century helped her surpass the great Debbie Hockley (4,066) as the White Ferns all-time ODI leading runs scorer with 4,192 runs. Incidentally, this is only the third instance when a 400-plus score has been made in women's ODIs.
Bates blasted 151 off 94 balls, with 24 fours and two sixes.
Amelia Kerr contributed in piling on the misery by scoring 81 off 71 balls with nine fours and three sixes.
For Ireland, Cara Murray led their bowling attack as she took two wickets.
