Marcelo: Cristiano Ronaldo does not own Real Madrid - Neymar is welcome

The long-serving Madrid full-back told reporters while readying himself for World Cup duty alongside Neymar: "Cristiano doesn't own Real Madrid so if the president wants to sign somebody he will do it".

Spanish daily AS reports that Ronaldo's agent, Jorge mendes, will meet with the Madrid hierarchy again on Thursday. "In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that have always been on my side".

Ronaldo is still unhappy over the club's failure to deliver on the president Florentino Perez's reported promise of a mega contract in 2017.

In fact, the world's top three players - Neymar, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo - are worth more than the nine least valuable teams combined, ING calculated.

The front page of Diario Record has a photograph of Ronaldo with the headline: "Ronaldo will leave Real - Irreversible decision".

However, I'm not sure I'd pay too much attention to these rumours as it's highly unlikely Ronaldo will join United anytime soon as £131m transfer don't just happen overnight.

Given his unrivalled stature at Real Madrid, the chances of it actually happening have been slim at best for several years. It might be a mistake to let go of Pogba, who has far more long-term potential, before we develop a system that allows attacking individuals to flourish.

Ronaldo, who hit 15 goals in Real's Champions League-winning campaign after a slow start, starred during Portugal's 3-0 win over Algeria in their pre-World Cup warm-up in Lisbon on June 7.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol, as quoted by Sky Sports, is reporting that Real Madrid are keen on a deal to sign De Gea this summer as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

Ronaldo, 33, smashed an wonderful 15 goals in 13 Champions League games to lead Madrid to their third straight title, while he also hit 26 La Liga goals in a season that caught fire in 2018 after a hard end to the previous year.
