Kate Middleton perfected summer style in a $70 Zara dress

The duchess proved her savvy shopping skills yet again today, stepping out in a relatively low-cost Zara dress alongside Prince George and Princess Charlotte to watch Prince William compete for the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy.

He and Princess Charlotte were enjoying a day on the sunlit sidelines to watch their dad playing polo, as is tradition on the day after the annual Trooping the Colour parade to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's birthday. Kate took two out of three of the little royals to the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at Beaufort Polo Club to raise funds for the Royal Marsden cancer hospital and Centrepoint, a homelessness charity.

It looks as though the toy gun came as part of a classic "police set" as the youngsters can also be seen with a plastic baton and some handcuffs and Prince George is known to have a fascination with the police and emergency services.

But when Prince George tried to join in, he was quickly silenced by Savannah, who put her hand over the third in line to the throne's mouth. The 4-year-old also played with a host of other toys that his mother had packed in her tote bag. She posted a letter on Twitter that said her time with the kids are her favorites.

So when Kate Middleton was caught dashing down a grass bank, on first glance it seemed she was keeping a watchful eye on the children.

Prince George wore a navy blue polo shirt with Khaki shorts while his sister Charlotte wore a pink floral frock. My American side here, biased maybe b/c of everyday #gunviolence in U.S., but my British side agrees. The royal family found themselves criticized for allowing their son a toy seen as an inappropriate in the wake of high-profile incidents of gun violence across the world. "THAT is #girlpower", one person wrote.

It's not a joke some people lose their lives because their children thought they played with a toy and it was a real gun! The midi length and waist tie further flatter the frame, making this an easy choice for a Sunday family outing.
