Today, at the unveil event of the Redmi Y2 in India, the company confirmed the rollout of global beta version of MIUI 10. The company will initiate the sale of the newly launched Redmi Y2 via Amazon and MI official website on June 12.
"The Redmi Y2 comes with a 5.99" large full HD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is likely to feature an overall metallic body.
The phone features 12-megapixel rear camera - down from 13-megapixel in the Note 4 - a 5-megapixel front camera along with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Android Oreo 8.1.0 runs out of the box with MIUI 9 on top.
A Chinese electronics company, Xiaomi past year launched first android one smartphone, however, that does not receive good response from critics as well as consumers.
Note:- The Redmi Y2 appears very similar to Redmi note 5 pro, but with an engine of Redmi note 5. Xiaomi has a reputation of deriving their success from the cloning of Apple devices and one of their latest models, Mi 8 has been labeled an "iPhone X ripoff".
Soon, Xiaomi Mi A2 May Launch in India
I'll have much more to share on the Redmi Y2 in the coming weeks, including how it fares against the likes of the Redmi Note 5 and other budget phones. Borrowing specifications and design elements from China's Redmi S2, the Redmi Y2 will be available in India in Dark Grey, Rose Gold, and Gold colour variants. In addition to these, it has a 16-megapixel sensor on the front with supporting feature such as AI Portrait Mode, AI Smart Beauty, Front HDR, and Face Unlock. But in doing so, it also sees itself trapped in a heavily congested price segment that is already dominated by another device from Xiaomi.
Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Y2 fall in the same price segment. It will be sold via Amazon.in, Mi.com, and Mi partner stores.
The Redmi Y2 packs in 3080mAh battery which should be good enough for an entire day, even for power users, especially because the Snapdragon 625 is a pretty efficient chipset.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB port.
As a known fact the device is available in two different models of 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage priced at Rs. 9999 and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB variant priced at Rs. 12,999.More news: Google Pixel 3: more features inside
