"The new model represents the ideal alternative for the performance-oriented AMG GT Roadster customer".
Mercedes-AMG is extending its sports auto portfolio with the new GT S Roadster. It has four two-door coupes, three four-door coupes, two customer race cars, and two roadsters. An output of 515bhp places the GT S between the standard 469hp GT and the GT C's 549hp.
Those figures are enough to see the vehicle reach 100km/h from stand still in just 3.8 seconds before topping out at 308km/h - and remember, this one isn't even the fastest variant.
According to Mercedes, the AMG GT S Roadster will make the sprint to 60 miles per hour from a standstill in only 3.7 seconds, while its more powerful older brother will do the same in 3.6 seconds. Power transmission duties are taken care of by a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. Now the Affalterbach tuner has added the mid-range GT S Roadster.More news: Businessman Sexually Assaults Mother, 10-year-old Daughter In Cinema

The roof of the auto is a three-layered automated soft-top supported by a lightweight structure combining aluminum, magnesium and steel, which helps to keep the vehicle's center of gravity low. Additional roll-over protection is provided by an integrated aluminium cross-member, while the inserted acoustic mat is claimed to improve noise comfort.
Four-wheel steering is also an option; the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the fronts at low speeds to aid manoeuvrability, but turn in the same direction at higher speeds to boost stability.
Pricing information for the GT S Roadster will be announced closer to the market launch in late 2018, but we can expect a slight premium on the $132k starting price of the GT S coupe. In India, AMG only offers the base GT Roadster - so it can not be confirmed if the company will bring this specific model to our shores or not.
