Loveland-area weather: Chance of severe thunderstorms

Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a 40% chance of scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 70s. Over the next few days as the front drifts back north, warmer temperatures should return and even some sunshine.

Wednesday: Scattered showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Highs will again be in the mid 80s.

Another wet and stormy one to end the work week.

The Weather Channel's stalwart meteorologist Jim Cantore said on Twitter Monday morning, "This is about as impressive a 7 day rainfall map as you can see for May". Partly cloudy. Lows in the low 70s. South southeast wind 5 to 10 miles per hour.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy and very warm. North northeast wind around 5 miles per hour becoming south in the afternoon. The unsettled weather will continue into the middle of the week with mostly cloudy skies on Wednesday with the chance for showers and storms. Low: 70. Wind: S 5-10 miles per hour.

Tuesday looks mostly cloudy with a high near 79 degrees, although there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m., the weather service says.
