Locals in London reflect on Meghan Markle, royal wedding

Like most fairy tales Meghan's story starts in a land far, far away. Meanwhile, with Ladbrokes giving 4-6 odds, Meghan's mother Doria Ragland is the favourite as a replacement to walk the bride down the aisle. "She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this hard situation".

Meghan attended a private primary school before studying at a girls' Roman Catholic college.

"And there was my mom, caramel in complexion with her light-skinned baby in tow, being asked where my mother was since they assumed she was the nanny", wrote Meghan in the 2015 essay.

After graduating in 2003 from North Western University with a degree in theatre and global studies Meghan moved back to Los Angeles and began working as a model and actress. You can bet on things like whether or not the Prince will get married in a uniform...

The drama over Meghan Markle's father continues.

How did the Markles react to the engagement news?

But the reasoning behind it is no longer about those paparazzi pics or the Markle family's strained relationships; now, we're learning Thomas actually needs serious, urgent heart surgery ASAP. He was a lighting director for a TV series called General Hospital, for which he later won two Daytime Emmys, and she was a temp at the studio.

Yesterday, Prince Harry and Ms Markle requested "understanding and respect" for her father after a celebrity news site reported he would not be coming to the royal wedding to walk his daughter down the aisle.

Women in a London souvenir shop said the situation with Markle's father is a shame, but they are sure the couple will make the best of it.

The images, showing him being measured for a suit and admiring a photo of the future royal couple on his computer, sold for US$100,000 (S$134,000), according to British tabloid the Daily Mirror.

At various points, Kensington Palace even intervened publicly telling the media to stop harassing Mr Markle.

Thousands of journalists from across the world are descending on the genteel town of Windsor for the wedding, and Thomas told TMZ that the media attention had taken its toll.

"I think she's going to be very involved behind the scenes", Katie Nicholl, author of the biography "Harry: Life, Loss and Love", said of Jessica Mulroney.

A spokesperson for the palace declined to comment on the matter to HuffPost on Monday, though they later issued a statement after much speculation.

The various changes of heart by Mr Markle days out from their grandson Harry's wedding - an event that has required military-style organisation for months - has reportedly frustrated the Queen and Prince Philip.

"They [doctors] will go in and clear blockage, fix damage and put a stent where it is needed". She will also ride with her daughter to the chapel on the morning of the ceremony.

Ragland, who has reportedly already arrived in Britain, is expected to spend Friday night with her daughter in a plush hotel before travelling with her by auto to Windsor Castle.
