Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians are faced with a "now and never" situation.

Kings XI Punjab has squandered its position of advantage with a series of three consecutive defeats.

Marcus Stoinis' life at the crease was cut short as Bumrah struck once again, dismissing him in the fifth ball of the same over. This will be the 13th match for both the teams.

While bowling the all-important 19th over for Mumbai, he bagged the wicket of Rahul on the third ball of the over after bowling the first two deliveries tightly. Meanwhile, the two flood-lights went off after the 10th over and play was halted for about 12 minutes. He put together a 111-run partnership with Aaron Finch who scored 46 runs. Aaron Finch finally made a contribution of note with the willow.

Mitchell McCleneghan broke the opening stand by dismissing Chris Gayle. Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royal, and King XI Punjab are level on points, just 2 behind KKR. The 12-minute interruption due to power failure injected some much-needed ammo in Mumbai' batting unit as Pollard and Krunal Pandya (32 off 23) hammered 49 runs in three overs (Overs 12 to 14).

Despite this, the hosts managed to finish on a high, scoring 11 runs in the final over. Tye bowled a fantastic spell picking up 4 wickets for only 16 runs in four overs. Losing wickets one after the other they found themselves in dire straits at 100-4. Ashwin gets his second victim.

Kieron Pollard scored a superb fifty in his comeback game. He gets to the milestone in just 22 balls as Mi go past 150. But there was always the chance of additional risk resulting in wickets.

MI too can not afford to lose from here. Surya Kumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Nitish Rana are better placed to have kept the Blue and Golden team's hopes alive.

Mumbai's narrow win against Kings XI meant that their NRR actually dropped from 0.405 before the game to 0.384. Its batsmen, including the likes of Chris Gayle, Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal, Yuvraj Singh and Manoj Tiwary have been woefully out of form.

The match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab, played at the Wankhede Stadium was one of the most crucial ones and Mumbai thrashed KXIP by 3 runs.

MI have had a mixed season so far this year.

The other opener Evin Lewis also got back his touch in the last match, hitting a 42-ball 60. KXIP lost the last match against RCB.

Tye ended up with 4/16 in his four overs, a heavy favourite to take the Purple Cap of the season, with 24 wickets in total.

Mumbai Indians started very well with the bat after some brilliant shots from the bat of Suryakumar Yadav. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM IST onwards.

"Bumrah is that guy you can just bank on", McClenaghan told Star Sports after the match.
