Dog saves canine friend from nearly drowning in Arizona swimming pool

Remarkable footage filmed in Mesa, Arizona, showed pet Remus jumping into the family pool and using his head to push Smokey out of the water.

Family pets Smokey and Remus snuck into the backyard and were playing on the patio when Smokey slipped and fell into the water.

Unable to get Remus' attention and seeing him panic as his paws kept slipping, Smokey goes into lifeguard mode and hops in.

She called Remus a "hero" dog, saying he might be "a insane pup he's got a heart of gold".

After pacing back and forth several times outside of the pool right above Smokey, Remus makes several attempts to try and get his friend onto dry land but finally jumps in.

Smokey and Remus are two dogs who have one incredible viral video.

Laurie added that the two play around the pool "all the time" without incident.

'Smokey can swim just not well ( as video shows ) watch video all the way to end.Jay recorded this off our security camera when he saw Smokey all wet!

Becerra wrote on Facebook that her husband had stepped inside the house for a few minutes and the dogs must have broken through a fence meant to keep them away from the water. My best friend cried when we sent him the video.
