The Crimson Tide and the Longhorns will play a home-and-home football series during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the schools announced Wednesday.
In one added twist, FBS Schedules points out that Central Florida was supposed to play at Texas in 2023 but that game is now off the table. The teams both mutually agreed to push back their home-and-home series to 2025 and 2026.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban said in a statement: "The Crimson Tide and Longhorns have played a lot of memorable games over the years, and the addition of this home-and-home series will be great for not only our fans, but fans of college football".
That won't be the case with an upcoming home-and-home series with Texas. Another shuffle in the Longhorns' future schedule impacts the planned series with the Ohio State Buckeyes. UTEP will visit Austin on September 19, 2020.
