A 19-year-old woman from Delhi has accused a man of repeatedly raping and assaulting her by confining her in a room at his residence in Sultanpuri on March 30. While claiming that he too had been harassing her for some time, the accused woman said that purportedly to teach him a lesson she conspired to blackmail him.
Judge Bill Prinsloo in the High Court in Pretoria ordered the police and justice ministers to pay this sum in damages to Gugulethu Mlilo of Olievenhoutbosch outside Pretoria, for her ordeal at the hands of the police and the justice system in 2013.
"She said that she was three-month pregnant and was going to the Tiloi CHC in a private taxi with her baby when the taxi driver stopped near the Haswa turn and raped her". Taking cognisnace of the complaint, a case under section 384 of IPC and section 66 E of IT Act 2008 has been registered against the woman and her friend Syed Ahmed in the Kotwali police station. The teenager says she fled captivity on April 9.
They also threatened her with dire consequences if she opened the matter to anyone, he alleged. When he returned, he used to be drunk.More news: Barry Lewis: Facebook and the illusion of privacy
