Rob Gronkowski Hints at 2018 Return

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (87) refuses to talk about his future with the National Football League in weekend press conference.

Some believe Jackson will be there when the Patriots make their first pick at 23, while others seem to feel he'll be taken well before then.

When asked about his status for 2018 he responded by saying "My status is doing really great".

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Gronkowski and Brady will play next season for the Patriots. Claiming that "I've got to work on my dirtbiking skills" as the reason why he was not participating. The latest controversy is his willingness to not attend Patriots offseason workouts in which he was viewed hanging out with a Sports Illustrated model instead. Those tensions have extended to Gronkowski, whose retirement ponderings reportedly stem in part from the large physical and mental toll that comes with being the Patriots' go-to weapon. He told reporters his future with the Pats "depends on how my racing skills go today". I've learned never talk forward.

"I really can't think of anything cooler than having a top-class thoroughbred named after me", Gronkowski said on his website gronknation.com, "except maybe having him win the Derby".

This could just be Gronk being Gronk. Something like "I'm just here to talk about motocross" wouldn't have been almost as bad of a look as what he actually did. He's too special of a player to really get an appropriate return in a deal. This insane press conference was basically him sticking his tongue out at Bill Belichick.
