Following the armed robbery attack that claimed many lives of in Offa, Kwara State, the Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has described the recent armed robbery attacks in Offa, Kwara state as the worst in the history of the ancient town.
He said Shogo, who is a native of Offa, was found to be a drug baron and an Indian hemp dealer in Offa.
The police had earlier arrested nine suspects in connection with the robbery.
"Kayode Opadokun 35yrs Native of Offa Kwara State, He was found out to have been released from Prison Three (3) months ago after Serving only 8months of his sentence years for Armed Robbery, Notorious Armed Robber and confirmed Gang member of the Offa Bank Robbers".
In the same vein, another three suspects in possession of Beretta pistol and 14 rounds ammunitions were also arrested in Ilorin.
Others are: Adewale Popoola, 22; Adetoye Mufutau, 23; Aminu Ibrahim, 18; Richard Terry, 23 and Peter Kuunfa, 25. Two pistols, ammunition and mobile phones belonging to some of the victims were recovered, he said.More news: Defense attorneys call for mistrial in Kathy Blair murder trial

The police said Shogo sponsored the attacks with "misplaced expectations of expanding his criminal and social profile".
Also, Jimoh Isa, 28, native of Okene Kogi State indicted by technical intelligence generated on the bank robbers, was arrested on the April 11, in Lagos.
National police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood told reporters in Abuja, the country's capital, that the suspects had admitted to the various criminal roles they played in the robbery.
The forum, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Ibrahim, on Friday, said, "While ACF urges the security agencies to always be proactive by constantly reviewing their security and intelligence gathering strategy to avert such ugly incident, we equally appeal to the Federal Government to provide the Nigeria Police Force with adequate trained police personnel, equipment and motivation in order to enhance their performance". "He was released from prison in December 2017".
However, the police said investigation is being intensified to arrest other suspects still at large, assuring that the team will bring them to justice.
According to him, the police will leave no stone unturned in unraveling this dastardly act and bring all those responsible to justice.
