Mock draft Monday: Updated seven-round Steelers mock draft

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick brushed off the idea that his team might select a player in the 2018 NFL Draft based upon needs.

The biggest questions heading into this years draft? Since the Jets moved up from the sixth overall spot to the third selection there has been chatter surrounding Mayfield being their top target at the pick. If they want to get a top-tier back, the Eagles will have to use their first-round pick on one because they won't be back on the clock until the fourth round unless they make some kind of trade to get a Day 2 pick.

The smartest teams prioritize fit and value in the National Football League draft over simply addressing the most pressing needs in the early rounds. Josh Rosen will have the opportunity to play right away. There, he provided solid run and pass support, and was arguably the Wolverines' best offensive lineman.

If Mayfield is their man, this is a dream scenario for John Elway and the Broncos, who have quarterback Case Keenum to start for the team while they groom their future franchise QB.

This is our first full first round mock draft of the season and it can't come at a better time.

With three picks before the 49ers' first selection, there are a number of interesting options on the board. With that, here is how we believe the draft could shake out including one potential trade that could dictate the rest of the draft.

They've featured in eight finals and the last dates back to 2010, so their chances of making it to winning another in this next attempt are based nearly entirely on their record rather than the likelihood of them lifting the trophy in their current condition.
