London stabbing: man killed in Forest Gate


Land and air ambulance crews treated him and he was taken to hospital in central London but died later in the evening. "He loved playing football and drinking beer".

A 34-year-old woman, known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Two people were stabbed to death in separate attacks in London within 40 minutes of each other while a third stabbing incident left a man critically injured, police said.

Just half an hour later a woman in her 30s was stabbed to death in Brixton, south London.

In relation to the Brixton incident, police arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of murder.

Detectives are informing his next of kin. He is in custody at a south London police station.

There have been no arrests and no suspect information available regarding the violent act, Lowell police Capt. Jonathan Webb said shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.

London's murder rate has risen 40 per cent in only three years, and was higher than the homicide rate in NY for the first time in history in February of this year.
