Lavrov hopes West won't follow Iraqi or Libyan scenarios in Syria

"God forbid anything adventurous will be done in Syria following the Libyan and Iraqi experience", Lavrov added at his press conference, in a dig at the us government. Now, I hope, no one will gamble on embarking on such a risky venture.

The toxin was never produced in Russian Federation, but was in service in the US, UK, and other North Atlantic Treaty Organisation states.

Russian Federation and the United States are using their channels of communications on Syria, according to the minister.

The Russian foreign minister stressed that this development of events can "please only those who are protected by oceans and those who expect to sit out in the process of continuing efforts to ripen the entire region, in order to continue to promote their geopolitical projects here".

Zakharova also accused the U.S. and other mainstream media of inciting the attack, noting that the White House's decision to launch a strike was based on media reports, photo and video shared on the Internet and spread online.

Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said the video shot in a Douma hospital and submitted by the "White Helmets" as evidence of the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian forces on April 7th is fabricated, and people who took part in filming the supposed attack and appeared in the video admitted to this.

And in a press conference on Friday, Russia's ambassador to the United Kingdom claimed the UK-funded White Helmets are "famous for staging attacks" in Syria. The Russian military said its chemical experts visited Douma shortly after the alleged attack and found no trace of chemical agents in ground samples.

"Not one of the cruise missiles released by the U.S. and its allies entered the zone of responsibility of Russian air defences protecting facilities in Tartus and Hmeimim", the ministry said in a statement carried by the RIA Novosti state news agency, referring to the locations of Russia's naval and air bases. The government, however, said evacuations from Douma were ongoing and no Syrian government forces had entered the town. We had been following up the situation literally minute by minute.
