Kathua rape case: Mehbooba Mufti to ask for fast track court

To express their outrage over the Kathua rape case, in which an eight-year-old girl from the Bakharwal nomadic community was drugged, gang-raped and murdered, celebrities came up with these placards that underlines the same basic message: I am Hindustan, I am Ashamed! "We have to keep this civilization alive", she said. "No pressure, no ultimatum".

"Madhavji will speak with our leaders and legislators and perhaps he may also have some message from the party high command for us". Mehbooba assured the entire nation that she stands committed to ensuring justice in the Kathua rape and murder case.

"Certain amount of discretion should have been maintained". The charge sheet was submitted in the court and as many as eight people have been arrested in connection with the case so far. "It is up to the court now to decide".

Pressure has been mounting on Mehbooba Mufti to end alliance with the BJP after two BJP leaders were accused of defending Kathua rapists.

In an earlier tweet she also said it was comforting to see the Supreme Court pull up the Jammu bar association for blocking justice in the rape and murder case of minor girl.

"The directive (of Tribal Affairs Department) issued to different districts must be withdrawn. The directive...must be withdrawn", Madav said while replying to a question about the demographic changes in Jammu due to settlement of Rohingya refugees and Tribals on encroached state lands in Jammu city, which are two major concerns of minority Dogras of Jammu. "Madhav took views of the BJP leaders of State unit on a series of issues especially Rassana incident, Rohingyas issue and Tribal Policy", sources said.
