Israel's military said on Tuesday that two armed Palestinian men from the Gaza Strip were caught while trying to infiltrate into Israel. The raid comes after Hamas accused Israel of assassinating one of its men in Malaysia and amid a wave of mass protests along the Gaza border that have turned violent.

Inspector-General of Police Mohd Fuzi Harun said that the motorcycle was discovered at the Danau Kota township in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.

"The American administration is not only biased towards Israel, but fully embraces its illegal policies to a point they have become part of United States ideology and policies", said the Foreign Ministry.

Lieberman said the Israeli government is implementing its policy to not transfer bodies of Hamas martyrs to the Gaza strip for burial.

The prevailing sentiment is that Mossad was indeed behind the latest slaying, as Al Batsh was believed to have been working on the Hamas unmanned aerial vehicle programme and improving the accuracy of its rockets.

The post-mortem conducted at Hospital Selayang concluded that the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso after 14 bullet slugs were found.

Malaysian police said that the research scientist, who specialized in energy issues, was killed in a drive-by motorcycle shooting as he headed on foot to take part in dawn Muslim prayers on April 21 in Kuala Lumpur. "I am sure that the Egyptian side will fully cooperate in the process of returning the body, and I hope that we will soon be updated, since we have already ordered plane tickets for Dr. Al-Batsh's family". "The engineer Fadi Mohammed al-Batsh".

At the mourning tent Hamas's leader Ismail Haniyeh vowed revenge, saying that Mossad "is not far from this disgraceful, awful crime". A main banner at the entrance to the tent described Batsh as a member of the terror group's military wing and "a commander".

"Someone has tipped us off but I can not reveal that information".

While Hamas has confirmed Dr Fadi as a member, Palestinian websites say he was related to a senior official of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Khaled Albatsh, who accused Mossad of carrying out the attack. It said he had made "important contributions" and participated in global forums in the field of energy.

"I would like to advise the public not to make any statements that could jeopardise investigations or to upload any inauthentic news that will give rise to public concern as well as outrage,"he said".

Israeli media reported that he was also deeply involved in the Hamas drone development project.
