Witnesses said the bullets came from a blue Honda Oddessy which was found several miles away in NY with Steven Pladl's body inside. Police said the child died as a result of a homicide, but they have not released the cause of death.

Steven Pladl and Katie Pladl later married, according to CBS affiliate WTVR. Pladl had told his then-wife past year that he had impregnated their daughter and planned to marry her. As a condition of his bond, he could no longer reside at the 106 Earlston Court home he shared with Katie, where the infant was found dead Thursday.

Before Katie moved into Alyssa and Steven's Henrico home, she lived in NY with her adoptive parents, Kelly and Anthony Fusco.

Katie and Steven Pladl, were previously arrested and charged with incest in January. The mother turned in Katie and Steven to police.

Steven Walter Pladl killed his daughter, Katie Rose Pladl, their baby boy and Katie's adoptive dad in a multi-state shooting spree ON Thursday before ultimately turning the gun on himself.

Police believe Pladl shot his seven-month-old son, Bennet Pladl, Katie Pladl and her adoptive father, Anthony Fusco, 56, on Thursday, April 12.

Steven and Katie got together in 2017, after she chose to get in touch with her birth parents in June 2016.

In a 911 call obtained by WNCN in Raleigh, Steven's mother said her son admitted to killing his wife and child. He talked about Katie Pladl had been dwelling in NY collectively along with her adoptive dad and mother. In August 2016, she moved in with her biological parents and their two other children.

Alyssa, who was horrified, said she thought it was his way of informing her of the incestious affair.

"She's in NY and he told me he was on his way and after bringing the baby to her and then he was coming back", she said.

Pladl and Alyssa divorced in 2017.

A one-year-old toddler was saved by a police officer after her father hurled her from the roof of a shack in Kwadwesi near Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. Warrants said the two young children were told by Steven to refer to Katie as step-mom, even though she's actually their sister. And he told me, she's in NY, and he called me last night and said he was on his way.

Attempting to delay the operation, the 38-year-old man allegedly climbed onto the roof one of the shacks with his one-year-old daughter. She said she believed Steven brainwashed and manipulated Katie.

They developed information on a suspect vehicle, which was later spotted several miles away across the New York State line in Dover.
