Comey says Trump 'morally unfit to be president'

As if on cue, hours before the interview aired, Trump called Comey a "slimeball".

Asked if the president wanted the Justice Department to investigate Comey, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Sunday on ABCs “This Week” that she was not aware of a specific request. Now on a publicity tour, Comey is deriding Trump at every turn, incurring even more of the president's all-caps Twitter rampages.

In his upcoming memoir "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership", Comey details his interactions with Trump before he was sacked.

Comey also said he believed that Trump was “morally unfit” to be president and that he treated women like “pieces of meat.”. Oddly, Trump, of all people, should know that he's probably selling Comey's book simply by mentioning it. Following this, interviewer George Stephanopoulos: "You can't say for certain that the president of the United States is not compromised by the Russians?" "There's something more important than that that should unite all of us, and that is our president must embody respect and adhere to the values that are at the core of this country".

"Comey drafted the Crooked Hillary exoneration long before he talked to her (lied in Congress to Senator G), then based his decisions on her poll numbers".

Comey said his reaction to the news was disbelief.

Those events have been well documented by Comey and the news media, but that doesn't mean the book won't make news. And while Comey has not responded to Trump's outrage Sunday night, the president did not appear to regain any composure after the weekend, firing another jab at Comey from his Twitter account Monday morning.

Comey re-openened the Hillary Clinton email investigation just days before the election, which many believe cost her the White House.

Mr Trump's adviser Kellyanne Conway accused Mr Comey of peddling a "revisionist version of history" and sinking into the "gutter" with petty comments about the size of Mr Trump's hands and the length of his tie. There is no indication Comey is under investigation for doing either. He said it was shortly after the inauguration when Comey was called into the Oval Office, which is where he says the president asked him to close the investigation into Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's ties to Russian Federation. "Is Donald Trump unfit to be president?" "I don't know", Comey said. You know you're in odd waters when the Republican National Committee dedicates a section of its web site to "Lyin Comey", a piling on of anti-Comey criticism, before the book is even officially released.

"Normally FBI directors are as closed lipped as possible".

The president soon turned his focus to the Cohen raid, an aggressive move by prosecutors in the Southern District of NY, who were referred material by special counsel Robert Mueller III's team.

Comey is schedule to give interviews on the book to major television networks this week and travel to a dozen cities to promote the book in person.

"The President, the press secretary, other spokespeople have called him a liar, a leaker, a political hack".

Comey also said that serving in Trump's administration poses a serious ethical dilemma.

"I think he's morally unfit to be president", Comey said, in his first televised interview since being fired in May previous year, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported. While Trump vehemently denied the salacious allegation, telling Comey, by Comey's account, "Do I look like a guy who needs hookers" (charming!), Comey can not say for sure that there isn't truth in the dossier's account.
