San Francisco: In a bid to compensate for some manufacturing defects, Apple has rolled out a battery replacement programme for its "non-Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pro" devices. "Affected units were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017 and eligibility is determined by the product serial number", it added.
Apple will determine the eligibility for fix through a device's serial number.
The company said this is not a safety issue and it will replace batteries in affected units at no charge. Well, such replacements are in the rage and so is the Apple.

In case you had already paid for a replacement battery on your 13-inch non-Touch Bar Apple MacBook Pro, then Apple will refund your money.
Apple noted, that the "your 13-inch MacBook Pro will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program and in working order". After that, it's a matter of 3 to 5 days for service to take place.
The program covers affected MacBook Pro models for five years after the initial retail sale, suggesting the program will run into 2022. The battery replacement program is not new for the US-tech giant. Last week, the company announced that it would extend the warranty on some Apple Watch Series 2 devices after it was discovered that there were issues with the battery expanding. "In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the fix".
