Spotify Now Allows Users To Edit Song Information

Now, they've launched a new feature which allows its users to add information to song credits. Apple's number compares to 71 million premium subscribers at the end of 2017 at industry leader Spotify, which plans to list shares in the coming weeks on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SPOT. As Variety reports, users can find the option to "Suggest an edit" by clicking on the three dots found on the right side of any song or artist entry in the streaming desktop app.

Spotify first began testing Line-In with a subset of its audience last fall. "This will help us improve, extend, and confirm the metadata Spotify saves", says Spotify, "which will in turn help us improve user experiences and create a more comprehensive ecosystem for Artists & Creators". Cue said Apple has 8 million subscribers now in the free trial period, the first time Apple has disclosed the number of trial users. "Spotify considers the source, and thoroughly reviews and checks the accuracy of this information, before the suggestions are folded into the data that powers our services", its spokesperson clarified.

Apple Inc's streaming music service now has 38 million paid subscribers, up from 36 million in February, the company said on Monday.

"We've also seen that listeners are eager to describe the music they're passionate about in ways beyond traditional concepts like genre and mood".

ITWeb is attending the official launch on Tuesday and will provide more details as they become available. Back in 2014, Spotify acquired The Echo Nest, a music metadata provider, for a reported $100 million. Families with up to 6 users can subscribe for $14.99 per month.
