This will be the 12 time that the Buckeyes will host NCAA Tournament opening round games at St. John Arena.

The Jacks are #1 in the NCAA in defensive rebounds per game (30), #8 offense (85 points per game), in the top 15 in three-pointers made per game (11), free throws made (566), and three-point percentage (40%). and in the top 25 in three-pointers attempted (896) and fewest turnovers (340). Freshman guard David Jenkins Jr. chips in 16.1 points per contest while senior forward Reed Tellinghuisen adds 12.0 points per game.

In 2016, the Buckeyes declined an invitation to the less-prestigious NIT Tournament. The Buckeyes picked up wins over Radford, Texas Southern, Michigan State and Purdue, lost to North Carolina, Gonzaga, Clemson and Butler and split their two meetings with Michigan.
