Nintendo Direct: Super Smash Bros on Switch, WarioWare, Splatoon 2 DLC

An appetite-whetting video has been released with both Mario and Link from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild making appearances.

The Nintendo Direct ended with showing the Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl battling it out before seeing the all too familiar logo appear in the sky, revealing their part in the upcoming Super Smash Bros Nintendo Switch game. In response to this news, he says "I'm excited to use GameMaker Studio 2 to put Undertale on Nintendo Switch". Is this a port/update of the Wii U and 3DS versions?

During the latest Nintendo Direct, a lot of Mario Tennis Aces detailed were revealed, including the release date. The firm didn't give much away, though, but a teaser trailer (below) confirms that with Splatoon's Inklings joining the fray, it's not just a port of the Wii U's Super Smash Bros 4.

Yet most tournaments in the game tend to be run by fans and the community without much help from Nintendo. A demo for the game will be available on May 10. Of course, there's also the Crash Bandicoot N Sane trilogy.

Nintendo has announced a new Super Smash Bros. game for the Switch console. So far, we don't know many details, but it'll suffice for now. It should also be viewable on Nintendo's YouTube channel.

"We're thrilled to be entering into a relationship with Nintendo, with the opportunities this will bring to our game development community, and most importantly, the players themselves", said James Cox, General Manager of YoYo Games. If you're not familiar with the software, it's similar to other widely-used middleware like Unity, however this one is built for use by people who might not have programming or game creation experience. The most fun to speculate though is the third party characters and I hope this time they get Konami on board for Bomberman and Simon Belmont (and Snake, I guess). A couple of new Mario games are also in line, with a Luigi's Mansion remake and a new Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Bowser Jr.'s Story for next year.
