The actresses will star in and executive produce the series. Big Little Lies was one of those shows, which was originally intended as a limited series but was such a hit on HBO that the network not only paid up for a second season, but enlisted Andrea Arnold to direct and Meryl Streep to co-star.

Kidman and Kelley both won Emmys for "Big Little Lies" past year - she for acting and producing, he for producing - as part of the series' eight-trophy haul.

"We're thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David", said Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming, "and can't wait to bring this show to life". A search for a director is underway. The project has yet to announce an episode count, although Deadline reported the series will likely be in the same range as Big Little Lies Season 1, which consisted of seven episodes. Blossom is now developing an adaptation of the books The Silent Wife, Reconstructing Amelia, Janice Lee's best-seller The Expatriates, and the off-Broadway vampire play Cuddles.
