A northern Virginia man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated and possessing marijuana after a police pursuit in which he ended up running over himself. But he forgot to put his vehicle in park, and as he ran in front of the auto, it hit him.

"He sped off, then got out of his auto to escape, but forgot to put it in park", read the police department's Facebook post.

Police reportedly pulled him over initially because of an apparent equipment violation before he tried to take off.

On Tuesday the police department posted the dash-cam video of the incident. But as he neglected to stop the auto fully in his haste, he was immediately run over by his own vehicle.
