Kevin Harvick wins his third straight NASCAR Cup race

Harvick came in four laps later and came out clean, and when drivers who needed more fuel eventually peeled off late in the race, Harvick took the final lead. He was docked 20 regular points and the team lost 20 owners' points.

Harvick, whose win last week at Las Vegas was tainted by two violations of NASCAR rules and a fairly hefty penalty on his Stewart-Haas Racing team, earned his third consecutive NASCAR Cup Series race by capturing the checkered flag Sunday at ISM Raceway (formerly Phoenix Raceway). "When you showcase character and grit as a team, as a unit, that's more powerful than any of us being good at what we do". One of those infractions was for a bowed-in rear windshield, which Harvick said was penalized because of reaction on social media.

Even though Harvick has been the headliner, he has always said it was important to him that the entire organization runs well, because that data will only strengthen his car's performance.

Kurt Busch won the second 75-lap stage in the NASCAR Cup Series race at ISM Raceway in a one-lap shootout after a caution period.

"The run was flawless for me, made the pop, he defended the position, in doing so, he put me in the marbles pretty late in the corner, " Rossi said. "That's probably what I'm most proud of".

Something else to note is the fact that his predecessor Matt Kenseth won this race back in November in the #20 Toyota and I'm sure Joe Gibbs Racing has provided Jones with the same type of equipment, and I am sure that his team is prepared with the same type of game plan. His teammate Chase Elliott has three top-10 finishes in Phoenix and finished 2nd in the Fall race last season.

"How many appeals have you seen overturned?" he explained. Vehicle chief Robert Smith was suspended for two Monster Energy Series races, and will wrap up the suspension at Auto Club Speedway.

"Those are some of the folks that I go to for any advice, because - Denny, Kevin, Darrell -those are guys that are going to tell you the way it is", DiBenedetto said.

Our leader in the standings, Joey Logano, hasn't won a race yet, but he's been the most consistent driver on the year.

"I had a pretty good turn those last two runs, and before that I wasn't turning good enough and (didn't have) too good of forward bite".

The 2014 series champion has 14 NASCAR national-series victories at the track, also winning an Xfinity event and four Truck races. In 31 Cup starts in Phoenix, the California driver has 15 top-five finishes. The victory also was the milestone 40th of Harvick's Cup career. He hasn't finished any lower than sixth in the last 10 races at the track, a span that includes six wins. "My helmet blower quit, everything quit. I took a picture of the screen when we had all four cars in the top seven", Stewart said.

The 24-year-old driver from Tucson, Arizona, is in his first season as the retired Dale Earnhardt Jr. He'll roll to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. next weekend looking to stretch the streak to four, an accomplishment last reached by Jimmie Johnson in 2007.
