Emirates air hostess 'falls off' from plane in Uganda


The Emirates flight - EK 730 had just delivered passengers to Entebbe and was preparing to load other passengers for Dubai when the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon, said a source at the Airport.

She was rushed to Kisubi Hospital, her injuries are reported to be life threatening.

The Ugandan civil aviation authority has disclosed that the incident occurred on 14 March, after the aircraft had arrived and parked.

A female member of Emirates Airlines is at a hospital in Entebbe after she jumped off her plane at Entebbe Airport in Uganda, yesterday.

An investigation into what caused her fall is now under way.

"Her knees were shattered and body cut with broken glass from a bottle she jumped with", a witness at the airport was quoted as saying.

'We are providing all possible support and care for the affected crew, and will extend our full co-operation to the authorities in their investigation'.

According to CAA, the cabin crew member, it appears, opened the emergency door herself.
