Chuck Todd responds to Trump's 'son of a bitch' slam

Even though Trump was in Western Pennsylvania to rally for Rick Saccone, the Republican candidate in the upcoming congressional special election, he revealed his own reelection slogan for 2020.

He said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" that Trump believes in freedom of the press and democracy and that there were "a lot of amusing moments" at the rally. "I know folks may be exhausted in the morning due to springing forward, so set those clocks and DVRs now before your eyes get too sleepy". "If I came like a stiff, you guys wouldn't be here tonight".

Todd joked about the reference on Twitter, using it to remind viewers to tune in Sunday and turn their clocks ahead.

Todd, who was singled out by the president during the rally, said he has told his children to respect the office of the presidency and asked Mnuchin repeatedly about the president's comments. "I sort of have the military rule in my house: You don't speak ill of the sitting president".

He called an African-American congresswoman from California a "very low-IQ individual" and bashed the moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press" as a "sleeping son of a bitch".

'In the first hours after hearing that North Korea's leader wanted to meet with me to talk denuclearization and that missile launches will end, the press was startled and amazed, ' the president had tweeted earlier in the day.

"You'd be so bored", Trump said as he brushed off criticism that he should change his ways.

"These are campaign rally issues", Mnuchin said. You know he, he likes to put names on people.

"Again, Chuck, this is something that is at a campaign rally", Mnuchin responded. "And I'll be focusing them on what the president is doing to protect the United States, it's citizens". Todd interrupted. "Don't worry about him as a role model?"

"It creates a challenge to all parents when he uses vulgarities like that".

"I think you should be focused on the policies", he continued.

"There's no question these sanctions are working and that's what brought them to the table", Mnuchin said.
