Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered tipped in Amazon listing

A listing on Amazon's Italian website suggests that a remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to release later this year.

As spotted by IGN Italia, listings for both Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game have been added to Amazon Italy, with prices of €19.99 (approximately $25 United States dollars / £17 / $31 AUD / R295 ZAR). But with only six weeks until the supposed release date, there isn't much time for Activision to make a big announcement and push marketing material. Activision launched the original Modern Warfare Remastered as a pack-in with Infinite Warfare in November 2016, only making it available as a standalone product in June 2017.

The publisher is holding a community event on May 17 to officially announce Black Ops 4.

We don't know if Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is going to release on April 30, but it's a safe bet that the game is in development.

Developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released back in 2009 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and is still widely considered by many franchise fans as the best game in the series (this person included). Activision likes to bundle the remaster with their major release so who knows, if the release date is correct, however, this may be a standalone release.

Of course, it is always worth bearing in mind this could be a mistake by Amazon Italy or simply a placeholder, however, as is the current trend it wouldn't be surprising to see a remastered version of Modern Warfare 2 coming soon the current gen of consoles. Is the Amazon listing legit?
