Bihar bypolls: RJD leading on 2 seats, BJP in one

This is the first electoral battle in the state since Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, head of JD (U), broke out the alliance with the RJD and the Indian National Congress and joined the NDA Alliance a year ago.

New electoral experiments before the crucial 2019 general elections will be put to test on Wednesday when the Lok Sabha bypolls results of Gorakhpur, Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh and Araria in Bihar will be announced. Mr Alam is up against the BJP's Pradeep Kumar Singh who had won the seat in 2009 and finished runner-up in 2014.

# SP's Praveen Kumar Nishad leading with a margin of 10,598 with 1,19,427 votes, BJP's Upendra Dutt Shukla second with 1,08,829 votes after eighth round of counting. Counting of votes for Jehanabad bypoll result 2018 will begin at 8:00 am.

RJD candidate Suday Yadav and BJP candidate Rinki Rani Pandey today won from Jehanabad and Bhabhua assembly seats respectively in byelections for both the seats. Stakes are high for RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who spearheaded the poll campaign for the party in absence of his father Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is behind bars in connection with two fodder scam cases. Dynamic security arrangements have been made for counting of votes. The seat was previously held by the RJD when it contested in alliance with Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United.

The Lalu Prasad Yadav-led RJD was on the defending turf in two of the three constituencies.

The BJP's Rinki Pandey was leading by over 6,000 votes over Sambhu Patel of the Congress, a RJD ally, in Bhabhua.

Let us tell you that in this tired of the Arriya Lok Sabha by-election, there is a direct fight between BJP Pradip Singh and RJD's Sarfaraz Alam. The latter had fielded Abhiram Sharma to take on RJD's Sujay Yadav, son of deceased MLA from the seat Mundrika Singh Yadav.
