Passengers are reporting long lines at the airport and it appears some flights are grounded until further notice. The carrier said it was "experiencing some flight delays, but we're getting everyone on their way".

The airline has not immediately replied to a request for comment from CBC News.

According to reports from multiple airports, including Toronto and Calgary, Air Canada is now experiencing a network outage nationwide with its computer system across the country. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working towards restoring our service as quickly as possible. According to flight-tracking website, Air Canada was experiencing almost 170 total flight delays as of Monday afternoon. "Thank you for your patience", reads a tweet from the airline.

However, the outage is affecting Air Canada travellers everywhere, not just at YVR.
