Shortly after noon, the airline announced that it was experiencing technical difficulties.

Air Canada issued a statement on Monday morning saying...

Air Canada says the problem has been fixed, but passengers should continue to expect delays.

Passengers are reporting long lines at the airport and it appears some flights are grounded until further notice. The carrier said it was "experiencing some flight delays, but we're getting everyone on their way".

According to reports from multiple airports, including Toronto and Calgary, Air Canada is now experiencing a network outage nationwide with its computer system across the country. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working towards restoring our service as quickly as possible. According to flight-tracking website FlightAware.com, Air Canada was experiencing almost 170 total flight delays as of Monday afternoon. "Thank you for your patience", reads a tweet from the airline.

However, the outage is affecting Air Canada travellers everywhere, not just at YVR.
