Sufjan Stevens to Perform "Mystery of Love" at the Oscars

The Oscars have lined up Mary J. Blige, Common and Miguel to perform the best song nominees. She is the first person to be nominated for both a performance and an original song in the same year.

A past Best Original Song victor, Common will team up with Day for a performance of the song "Stand Up for Something" from Marshall.

In addition to her "Best Supporting Actress" nomination, Mary J Blige will sing her song from Mudbound "Mighty River". In the film itself, Gael García Bernal also lends his voice for a version of "Remember Me", sung by his character Hector, a skeletal trickster who accompanies protagonist Miguel on his journey through the Land of the Dead.

"We're excited to have these talented artists showcase the powerful contribution music makes to filmmaking", said Oscars show producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd (via Variety).

Stevens will perform his Oscar-nominated song Mystery of Love, written for Call Me by Your Name.

After melting the hearts of the world over last fall, Coco is finally ready for its reckoning at the Oscars on March 4.

The nominees for Best Original Song should always perform because it's a nice way to break up the evening and add a little theatricality into a night that can be fairly staid and the biggest thing that happens is the host passing out food to the biggest celebrities.

Keala Settle will bring a bit of Broadway to the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles with her performance of "This Is Me" from the musical drama "The Greatest Showman". They are the team who won the Oscar for "Let It Go" from "Frozen".
