Early previous year, we reported that Donnie Yen was set to star in a film based on the game Sleeping Dogs. Yen shared his post on Instagram that shows two side-by-side images that make a clear reference to his upcoming role in the Sleeping Dogs movie.

In a caption accompanying a series of photos, Yen writes, "Sometimes great things take a bit of time". Sleeping Dog is motion, you guys ready for this?' There's even a #kickass hashtag to confirm that, yes, this movie will kick some ass, in case you weren't sure. Yen accompanies the message with a variety of shots of himself next to images from the game.

The game was released back in August 2012 and had players take control of Wei Shen, a former police officer tasked with infiltrating and taking down the Triad organisation Sun On Yee.

Alongside Yen's statements on the film, his Instagram post also included a number of screenshots from the game, and while Yen's exact role in the game has yet to be revealed, hopefully there is a chance that he will be portraying the protagonist from the original game, Wei Shen.

Many were skeptical of if the film would actually get made since it wasn't a mega-popular IP and big video games already have enough trouble getting films made but it appears Sleeping Dogs has already begun filming! Will you see this movie?
