If the NCAA tournament were to be determined today, Arizona would be a No. 4 seed in the West, which is pretty consistent with how many have projected. It placed the Spartans in the South Region as the field's No. 11 overall seed.

The Tigers, now 20-4 overall and 9-3 in second-place in the ACC, were projected as a No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region of the bracket.

So while Virginia Tech's away win vs. Virginia was an RPI top-50 win previous year, it is now a Quadrant 1 win. "They've had a great strength of schedule".

The Red Raiders were projected to be a part of the East region alongside first-seed Villanova, second-seed Duke and fourth-seed Ohio State. The four No. 2 seeds are Auburn, Kansas, Duke and Cincinnati.

East: 1. Villanova, 2.

The No. 2 Cavaliers (23-2, 12-1 ACC) travel to No. 25 Miami (18-6, 7-5 ACC) on Tuesday to face the Hurricanes at 9 p.m.at the Watsco Center. Last season, 15 of the preliminary top 16 remained in that group for the bracket a month later. Clemson reached the Sweet 16 of the 1997 tournament.

"I just wanted to win", Virginia coach Tony Bennett said Saturday night of the No. 1 prospects. Who knows if you'll get that chance? The other three No. 3 seeds along with Michigan State are Clemson, Texas Tech and North Carolina.
