"Based on information we have at this point, Henderson picked Diamond up near her residence and drove directly to Putnam County, to 850 North road", he said.

The exact nature of their relationship and Henderson's past still are being investigated, Spring Valley Police Chief Kevin Sangston said at the news conference. Bradley, 16, was found stabbed to death four days later. Henderson was linked to Bradley through an investigation that included tracking Bradley's cellphone and the use of surveillance cameras, the office said. He is being held in La Salle County Jail - a common arrangement for suspects facing charges in smaller counties. Almost 20 law enforcement agencies worked on the case.

Authorities were quick to declare the case a homicide - it was announced last Friday she had been stabbed multiple times.
