Sony has tweeted a video that teases an event on 26 February where the new smartphone is expected to get unveiled - yup, the day after the Samsung Galaxy S9 reveal. The rumor arrives from Swedish Android website Swedroid (via Xperia Blog) only days before the handsets are expected to be unveiled.
An Xperia Blog commenter by the name of "Grisha" posted a photo of what he claims is a prototype of the Xperia XZ2 Compact sitting next to an Xperia Z5 Compact. The smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with octa-core CPU. The display will also boast the protection of the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The report has stated that this device will offer 4GB of RAM besides 64GB of internal storage space. In terms of the display, the Xperia XZ2 will sport a 5.8-inch screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and the XZ2 Compact will come with a 5-inch 18:9 screen with 2160x1080p resolution. As per the latest spec leak, it seems the Xperia XZ2 Compact will have similar specs as the Xperia XZ2, only with a smaller screen. The flagships will also come with a special music feature, details on which are scarce at the moment - what's, however, known is that it leverages the device's vibration.More news: Husband of slain lawmaker steps down after misconduct claim

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact may bear a price tag of 5,990 SEK, a sum roughly around Rs. 47, 940. Though its potentially 5-inch display diagonal suggests it could be larger than previous handsets in the Compact range (typically around 4.6-inches), the implementation of a "bezel-less" 18:9 panel could keep it feeling dainty. The Xperia XZ2 is obviously a tad pricier at SEK 7,990 (or approximately Rs. 63,950). Both phones are said to go on sale on 6 March, just over a week after they're announced at MWC.
