This news comes after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced an increase in customs duty for imported mobile phones from 15 percent to 20 percent during the Union Budget 2018. In December 2017, the company revised the price of its iPhones when the government increased to customs duty from 10% to 15%.

The increase in MRP is applicable on all iPhone models, except the iPhone SE, which is being assembled in India by Wistron.

"The decline is also partly due to last year's strong quarter when sales of the iPhones spiked owing to demonetization and the high volume of cash transactions", Tarun Pathak, Associate Director, Counterpoint Research, wrote in a blog post.

In terms of best selling models, iPhone X was the leading model in the premium segment, capturing one-fifth of shipments, followed by the OnePlus 5T and Samsung Note 8. We finally have the iPhone 6 with the new price tag of Rs. 31,900 that was previously priced at Rs. 30,780. In December, the iPhone X's price was increased from its original Rs. 1,02,000 to 1,05,730.
